Graduation parties are fun to plan. I got the opportunity to arrange this years celebration for the graduates at our local church. These were 8th Grade and High School graduates that we wanted to encourage and celebrate.

Graduation Luncheon

I worked with all of the mom’s of the graduates to decide what we wanted to do this year. Last year, we had talked about doing a luncheon celebration instead of just a come and go snack celebration that we had done before. This seemed to work well for all of us party planners and we decided to have a catered Mexican food lunch (yum). We kept the menu simple and required little for us to do in the way of food preparation. All we had to get was napkins, drinks, and dessert!

Quick and easy decorations

I love to use these black, white, & gold paper pom poms. I know you can make them yourself by folding tissue paper together and cutting them but I get them on Amazon to save time. They are relatively easy to put together but take a little bit to fluff. These paper pom poms are super light and easy to add to a wall or table. I used them on the wall behind the graduates.

Graduation Decorations

Because we had graduates from several different schools we opted to use simple and traditional graduation colors as our color palette. Using black, white, and gold we created a cohesive look to the large event space. This table was used for coffee and tea. We got the graduation boxes here, balloons, and “class of” banner here on Amazon.

Graduation Favor Boxes

I got these adorable graduation party favor boxes from Amazon. I made the 2023 stickers using my Circuit and gold vinyl and placed them on the cap. For the graduates, I placed the 2023 and their name. This helped them find their place at the head table. All of the boxes had various small candies in them with a little confetti.

Graduates Table

We set a head table on the stage area for the graduates to sit. This was to allow all that came to see the graduates. We usually ask the graduates various questions like where they went to school and what their plans are for the upcoming year. We also place small gifts including their favor box for each graduate at their assigned seat.

Graduation Backdrop

We wanted to make sure we created a backdrop for the graduates which was fun but classic so we used the tissue flowers, rolls of crepe paper, and simple graduation banners. The trick to the crepe paper twists are to count your twists to keep them even and find an object that you can place in between each row to help with placement. and opted to fill them with balloons but next time I would opt to add lights instead.

Graduates Card Table

We made sure we included the Card table in our decorations. We had each mom bring a photo of their graduate and we used these cute boxes for the cards. We place the photos and boxes on all sides of the table so you could easily walk around and see each photo. Above the table we stuck balloons to the ceiling to create the look of helium balloons.
